The Driver Academy ("we", "us", "our") is a sole trader business operated by Murray, trading as The Driver Academy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it, in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

The Driver Academy, 1 Kingfisher Street, Roslynlee, Midlothian, EH25 9QU.

What data we collect

When you use one of the forms on this site — to book a lesson, apply to join the franchise, register interest in becoming an instructor, or join the Learn to Drive at Home waitlist — we collect the information you enter into that form. Depending on the form, this may include:

We do not collect payment details through this website, and we do not use tracking cookies or analytics software at this time. If that changes, this policy will be updated and, where required, we'll ask for your consent first.

Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

We use the information you submit to respond to your enquiry, arrange lessons or franchise/training discussions, and administer our relationship with you as a customer, franchisee, or instructor. Our lawful basis for this is that processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract with you, or to perform that contract (for example, once you've booked lessons). Where we contact you about the Learn to Drive at Home waitlist, our basis is your consent, given by submitting the form — you can withdraw this at any time by emailing us.

Who we share it with

Form submissions on this site are processed using Formspree, a third-party form-handling service, which delivers your enquiry to our inbox. We don't sell, rent, or otherwise share your personal data with any other third party for their own marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and booking data for as long as reasonably necessary to deliver our services and meet any legal or accounting obligations, and delete or anonymise it when it's no longer needed for those purposes.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to request a copy of it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email info@thedriveracademy.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the business grows. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date.
